Conflict Resolution in Schools

Learning to Live Together

an International Conference
15 and 16 September in the Netherlands

see: www.conflict-prevention.net

The European Centre for Conflict Prevention, in co-operation with the Netherlands Commission for UNESCO, is organizing an international conference on Conflict Resolution in Schools. The main themes that will be discussed are practical approaches to methods of dealing with conflict in the classroom, drawing from a wide range of experiences and lessons learned, and the relationship between curriculum change and the promotion of social cohesion and inclusion.

Participants can choose from a challenging and varied program of workshops and working groups on subjects including peer mediation, restorative practices, whole school approaches, the initiation and evaluation of such programs, tolerance and coexistence education, and curriculum change.

With speakers from a wide range of European countries, Africa and North America, and an audience of practitioners and policy makers from over 20 European countries, this conference will be a lively and engaging forum aimed to put theory and pilot projects into broad and institutionalized practice.
