About the International Summer School

Established for over 30 years, the International Summer School is a group dynamics seminar that takes place at the European Academy in Berlin. This year the theme of the seminar is "Bridging Boundaries – Cultural Diversity in Groups and Organisations". Students come mainly from Europe, (both Eastern and Western Europe) but are also very welcome from all over the world. The international flavour provides an opportunity for intercultural learning that becomes ever more important in an increasingly united Europe which is characterised by a greater inter-dependence of social, economic and cultural activities.

One experiential group will be conducted in English and the other in German.
The seminar is suitable for counsellors, supervisors, trainers, psychotherapists, teachers and professionals who work in groups, teams and projects. It is also relevant to executives and managers in the profitmaking and non-profitmaking sectors who are leaders or facilitators of groups and teams and who wish to reflect on their practice. In general the seminar offers the opportunity for anyone who is interested, to explore how they relate and connect to others, in a multi cultural, experiential group. It offers the chance to engage with people from different professions and cultures at a more profound level, over a 10 day period and in a beautiful setting.

The learning process in group dynamics takes place on three levels: the individual, the group and the organisation and generally in how we experience ourselves within a multiprofessional and multicultural group. It offers the opportunity to learn from and reflect on the "here and now" experience of the group and to explore new options and ideas for action and change.
