Educated at a teacher training college, she worked for five years as a teacher in primary schools.

After the birth of her children, she started free lance working for school radio, where she made documentaries and news magazines for young children (8 – 12). She also made programs about education for parents and teachers.

She developed educational materials for global education, in which audio cassettes and written materials were used, both for primary schools and for secundary schools.

For several years she was involved in developing a curriculum on knowledge about selling goods for students at a vocational school for sales people. In this curriculum the global aspects of raw products and production, as well as consumers' needs, psychology and advertising were included.

Through this work, she got involved in an organisation for Global education, School & World, that tried to bridge the aspects of human rights education, environmental education, peace education, etc. In School & World's Projektenbank schools could learn about each other's experiences with educational projects.

Together with an Israeli collegue, she developed a curriculum on Creative Coping with Conflicts for primary schools, and got more and more involved in peace education. Nowadays she is working for the International Fellowship of Reconciliation as Education Officer for the Women Peacemakers Program.

As a volunteers, she is a member of the Education working group for the Dutch Platform for a Culture of Peace and Nonviolence, in which she is involved in several projects to promote peace education in Dutch schools. As a member of the international EURED working group (European Education as Peace Education) she is co-developer of a curriculum for in-service teacher training on European peace education.

In the meantime, the audio visual side of her work developed in her involvement with the local radio station, where she was producer and director of several news- and actuality programs. She also started local television programs. With one of the co-producers of local television, she today runs a small video company, making educational and promotional videos for a wide range of customers.
