Eva Fuessinger studied business economics at the Universities of
Nuremberg and Cologne and specialized in "economic and social
psychology" and "marketing".
Since 1996 Mrs. Fuessinger works for the (German-)Swiss branch
of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR), the "Forum
for Peace Education".
The assignments in her work are the development of concepts, realization
of seminars on topics like
- non-violent conflict resolution,
- development and strengthening of self-esteem
- development and strengthening of emotional intelligence
- violence-prevention / peace education
Since IFOR has played a key-role in the promotion of the UNO-Decade
"for the Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children
of the World" (2001-2010), Forum for Peace Education
as a contribution to the Decade - plans and implements different
projects promoting tolerance, a constructive "together
in a multi-cultural society, the translation of human rights into
action in everyday-life. The initialisation, planning, realization
and evaluation of such projects form a further emphasis of Mrs.
Fuessingers work with IFOR Switzerland.
In co-operation with the municipality, the local organizations
and institutions Mrs. Fuessinger is running continuously her own
violence-prevention projects. Main targets of these projects are
- The promotion of abilities, talents and experiences, which favour/enable
a constructive and a tolerant "together in a multi-cultural
society,
- Sustainability: An important request of the projects is to begin
as early as possible (in kindergarten, primary school) with the
prevention-work, before tolerant and non-violent "together/community
preventing behaviour-patterns and experiences can solidify themselves.
The intention of the concept is to accompany children continuously
over a longer period (several years) in their personal and social
development and offer age-adequate tools for non-violent conflict
resolution.
The stabilization of personality, the stabilization and development
of the social competence (=empowerment) and in addition, the creation
of favourable structures and conditions (surrounding) are central
for the playful and wholistic activities. The contents are systematically
structured and adjusted to the developing abilities of the children
/ youth (according to age and level of development).
Since 2000 Mrs. Fuessinger is member of the board of the Swiss
Association for the Protection of the Child.
