IEA International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement The International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement is an independent international cooperative of research centers. It conducts comparative studies that focus on educational policies and practices so as to enhance learning within and across systems of education. Due to their international and cooperative basis, IEA studies allow researchers and policy-makers to enter into a dialogue with and learn from their colleagues around the world. They focus on educational policies and practices and thus enable the development of a conceptual framework that clarifies issues, suggests appropriate methods of investigation, and uses those analytic tools that best elucidate key factors and issues related to student achievement. These actions result in validated measures of educational outcomes and processes. Apart from detailed descriptions of the IEAs different international studies and related publications, this site offers links to and e-mail addresses of associated research centers around the world. |
